GoTerm

Terms of service

Last updated November 4, 2026

The terms for using GoTerm: the trial, plans and payment through Paddle, what happens when a plan ends, your content, and fair use.

Who we are

GoTerm is run by Tivali, trading as Kafka.id (“we”, “us”). These terms cover GoTerm: its web terminal, its desktop and mobile apps, the workspaces they sign in to, and goterm.net.

By signing up, ordering or using GoTerm, you agree to these terms. If you use GoTerm for an organization, you agree for that organization, and confirm you may.

You must be at least 18, or of age where you live.

What GoTerm is

GoTerm connects you to your own servers over SSH and SFTP, from a browser, the desktop app or a phone. A workspace keeps your hosts, your Vault of passwords and keys, sessions that keep running, recordings, monitors and the audit log, on a server in the region you choose.

We keep improving GoTerm, and may change or remove features. If a change takes away something your plan includes, we tell you first.

Free, without an account

The desktop app works without an account. On Free it connects straight from your computer, and your hosts and keys stay on that computer: our servers never see them. These terms apply to it too, apart from what they say about workspaces and payment.

Your account and your workspace

A workspace has an owner, who adds admins and people. You are responsible for the people you add, for what they do in the workspace, and for keeping your sign-in safe.

Owners and admins sign in with a code from an authenticator app as well as their password.

If you think someone else got into your account, write to hello@goterm.net straight away.

The free trial

  • Personal and Teams start with a 14-day free trial, with no card. You get the whole plan, with 2 monitors.
  • Each email address gets one trial.
  • We email the workspace’s owner 3 days before the trial ends, and on the day it ends.
  • To keep the workspace, choose a plan and pay. If the trial ends unpaid, the workspace is paused, as “When a plan ends” describes.

Plans and payment

Paddle.com is our reseller, and the merchant of record for every order. You buy GoTerm plans from Paddle: it takes the payment, adds VAT or sales tax where it applies, sends receipts and invoices, and handles refunds. Paddle’s buyer terms apply to the purchase.

  • Prices are in US dollars, as goterm.net shows them, before tax.
  • A plan renews each month or each year, as you chose, until you cancel.
  • Moving to a bigger plan, or adding seats, takes effect at once: you pay the difference for the rest of the period.
  • Moving to a smaller plan, or removing seats, also takes effect at once, and the unused part is taken off your next payments.
  • A smaller plan can be chosen only once the workspace fits it. The Billing page lists what to remove first; we never remove anything for you.
  • Business is paid for up front. Once it’s paid, we set up its server in the city you chose, and email the owner when it’s ready.
  • If we change a price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you.

Refunds follow our refund policy.

When a plan ends

  • You can cancel at any time, from the workspace’s Billing page. The plan stays until the end of the period you paid for.
  • When a trial or a plan ends unpaid, or a payment fails and isn’t made good, the workspace is paused: only signing in and its Billing page still work.
  • A paused workspace is kept for 7 days, so you can pay and find it as you left it. We email its owner 2 days before it’s deleted.
  • After those 7 days, the workspace is deleted with everything in it: its hosts, the Vault, recordings, the audit log and its people’s accounts.
  • Until then, the desktop app can keep each person’s own hosts, passwords and keys on their computer, and go on as Free.

The owner can also delete the workspace at any time, from its Billing page, with a code we email to them. This ends the subscription at once, and can’t be undone.

After a workspace is deleted, we keep the invoices of its payments, as tax law requires, and the email address its trial started with, so that address can’t start another trial.

Your content

What you put in GoTerm stays yours: hosts, files, passwords and keys, recordings and the rest. We use it only to run GoTerm for you.

Passwords and keys in the Vault are stored encrypted. They are decrypted only to connect, and never sent to the people you share a session with.

If your workspace records sessions, you are responsible for telling the people it records, where the law asks you to.

Using GoTerm fairly

Use GoTerm only with servers, networks and sites you are allowed to use. Don’t use it to:

  • get into, scan or attack systems you don’t have permission for;
  • send spam, or point monitors or tunnels at sites or networks that haven’t agreed to it;
  • break the law, or store or share malware, or content you have no right to;
  • get around a plan’s limits, reach another workspace, or test GoTerm’s security without our written agreement;
  • resell GoTerm, or overload it on purpose.

If a workspace harms others, we may pause it, and we tell its owner why. Where we can, we tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.

Availability

We work to keep GoTerm running, but can’t promise it never stops: maintenance, and things outside our control, can interrupt it. A session that keeps running can still end, for example when a server restarts.

GoTerm comes with no service level agreement, unless we sign one with you.

Companies we rely on

GoTerm uses other companies to run: Paddle for payments, Cloudflare in front of our sites, the companies that host our servers, and an email service. Their own terms cover what they do.

Our software and name

GoTerm’s software, design and name belong to us or to those we license them from. You may use GoTerm as these terms allow; that gives you no other rights in it.

No warranty

GoTerm is provided as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond these terms, such as that it suits a particular purpose or is free of errors.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for GoTerm in the 12 months before it arose.

Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer.

Claims caused by you

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, or because you broke these terms or the law, you cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. For a change that matters, we email workspace owners at least 30 days before it applies. If you keep using GoTerm after that, the new terms apply to you.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of Indonesia, and disputes go to its courts. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the law where you live, and can go to your own courts.

Translations

These terms are written in English and translated into German, French and Spanish. If a translation differs, the English text applies.
